Creating 'Cotton Socks'

'I walk around like everything is fine but deep down, inside my shoe, my sock is falling off.’

The main character in my illustrations is a girl called ‘Cotton Socks.’ I created and developed her during the early stages of the Covid 19 pandemic. I had been looking for, and hoping to find, a new project that I could escape into and find a bit of enlightenment during those uncertain times.

I came across a quote from an unknown writer which read, 'I walk around like everything is fine but deep down, inside my shoe, my sock is falling off.’ Just like that Cotton Socks was born.

This is my first drawing of Cotton Socks

Over time I have introduced other characters to join her on her journey - the calm and humble Snail, the wise and bashful Fox and the gentle loyal Cocker-poo.
